Wang Jianlin attends forum for Economic Person of the Year

Wang Jianlin, chairman of Wanda Group, accepted the invitation to attend and give his views in the program “Q&A by Leaders on the Chinese Economy” at the Tianjin station on 15 December 2010 for CCTV’s Economic Person of the Year 2010. The program was aired to huge responses on 4 January 2011 in the “Half-Hour Economy” program on the business news channel of CCTV.
Wang said in the program that Tianjin is at an unprecedented stage of development with both the speed and quality of development at astounding levels and this is the best time to invest in the city. In reply to the question posed by the host on which cities are the leaders in regional economy, he said “Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuhan and Chongqing”. He also gave his views on issues such as stimulation of consumption and reforms in personal income tax.
Selection for CCTV’s China’s Economic Person of the Year is the most influential in the economic circles in China and it is known as the Oscars in the field of economy in China. Wang was named China’s Economic Person of the Year in 2005 and he was one of the Top Ten Business Leaders in 2009.
